The 2017 X.Org Developer's Conference (XDC2017) is being hosted by Google in Mountain View, California, from the 20th through the 22nd of September, 2017. The event will be held at 1055 Joaquin Rd, Mountain View, CA 94043.
Livestream
Registration
The conference is entirely free of charge. If you want to attend XDC2017 please add your name to the attendees page. Additionally please subscribe to the X.org events mailing list where we may post updates.
Accomodation
There are several hotels near the Google offices. Many of them are filling up, and most have said that they are usually full a week before the day you arrive, so don't wait until the last minute.
Code of conduct
XDC is meant to be a technical conference where everyone can enjoy themselves. To this end, we will ask you to be kind to each-others and check out our Anti-Harassment Policy.
Meals
Coffee Service, morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack will be kindly provided by Google, at the location, during the conference. In the evening, happy hour will be provided by Google at the venue on Wednesday, and by Collabora at Steins Beer Garden on Thursday, though these will not include a full dinner.
The area also offers a number of good restaurants. Downtown Mountain View has a good selection of restaurants. Downtown Sunnyvale has a similar selection.
Travel
The nearest airport to Mountain View is San Jose, California (SJC), but the one most attendees will likely be flying into is San Francisco International (SFO). SFO is about 30 miles from Mountain View, and as such, a taxicab would be rather expensive. Other options are renting a car (advised, since any hotel would be a few miles from Google) or using the BART/CalTrain to get to Mountain View, and then taking a taxicab to your hotel from there. If you are flying, landing in SJC is definitely simpler (it's a smaller airport) and closer than SFO. The drive to/from SFO through highway 101 can take a while during peak hours, so definitely account for this when scheduling.
The closest exit from the 101 Freeway is Shoreline Blvd. Please make a note of how to get there. Map directions are available from this point.
Travel Sponsoring
If you are not on a corporate budget but have something to present, please contact the X.Org Foundation Board of Directors board@foundation.x.org for travel sponsorship. (See Events for details.)
