[15:00:21] [connected at Thu Jul 15 15:00:21 2021] [15:00:21] [I have joined #xf-bod] [15:00:58] <Lyude> Hi everyone, time for rollcall: danvet samuelig mdnavare keithp mfilion anholt hwentlan [15:01:02] <anholt> hi! [15:01:06] <samuelig> hi! [15:01:08] <keithp> hello! [15:01:22] <Lyude> awesome - quorum reached. Agenda for today: X.org/freedesktop.org domain status, requesting ledger data, XDC2021 invoices status, XDC2022, XDC2022 sponsors, HDMI 2.1, GSoC/Outreachy/EVoC, sharing of non-redistributable game traces within X.org members, equinox meeting [15:01:30] <hwentlan> hi [15:01:59] <Lyude> I will go over my items first, for requesting ledger data: Received an update from SPI (without having to poke them!) saying that they've looking into providing ledger reports now. Additionally, they sent us the treasurer's report for X.org for 2020. [15:02:29] <mdnavare> Hi everyone [15:02:43] <Lyude> For GSoC/Outreachy/EVoC: Finally sent out the email about this yesterday, now waiting for (hopefully) responses [15:02:55] <Lyude> (if there were any responses I only got through half my email so far today and haven't seen them yet :) [15:03:41] <Lyude> I think that's all from my side, danvet do you want to go over x.org/freedesktop.org domain status? [15:05:09] <danvet> oh sorry didn't get around to that more [15:05:35] <Lyude> danvet: no problem. mdnavare want to go over XDC2021 invoices? [15:06:59] <mdnavare> Yes, noted Linux Foundation and Khronos sponsorship confirmation, requested an invoice for Khronos. And later today will request Linux Foundation invoice. Also poked Intel on creating a PO after which they can be invoiced by SPI [15:07:23] <mdnavare> Thats all from my end [15:07:38] <mdnavare> Btw, also started reviewing the submissions [15:08:09] <Lyude> mdnavare: awesome, thanks! danvet: do you want to go over XDC2022 sponsors now? [15:08:33] <samuelig> XDC2022 is too soon right? ;-) [15:08:37] <Lyude> oops [15:08:48] <Lyude> sorry - forgot to update my checklist on trello apparently :) [15:09:21] <danvet> Lyude, oh sry, was just busy pinging a few [15:09:26] <danvet> we got khronos confirmed again [15:09:46] <danvet> and LF but I think that was already covered in the last meeting [15:09:56] <danvet> also yes xdc21 :-) [15:10:01] <Lyude> np (I actually meant to order the agenda items by speaker so I could reduce how many times I needed to highlight folks, but forgot to) [15:10:47] <Lyude> hwentlan: want to go over HDMI 2.1? [15:11:23] <mdnavare> danvet: Yes already sent an invoice request for Khronos [15:12:27] <hwentlan> still no update from the hdmi forum. i pinged them about it this morning [15:13:25] <Lyude> hwentlan: thanks for the update! anholt, want to go over sharing of non-redistributable game traces within X.org members? [15:14:21] <danvet> mdnavare, thx a lot [15:15:17] <Lyude> hm, samuelig do you want to go over the XDCs while we wait for anholt ? [15:15:23] <samuelig> sure thing [15:15:33] <samuelig> XDC 2021: We have closed CfP after extending it for a couple of days. We finally got enough talks to cover the three days of the conference. Very good quality talks this year, in my opinion... thanks to the submitters! 16 full-slot talks and 8 half-slot talks. On top of that: 2 workshops, 3 lightning talks and 0 demos at this moment. We still welcome submissions for workshops lightning talks and demos! [15:15:42] <samuelig> I have asked some speakers to adjust their talk: either to promote some very interesting lightning to half-slot, to ask for a half-slot talk for a BoF (so they can present the topic there before the real discussion) and some minor changes in abstracts. [15:15:53] <samuelig> The CfP committee is almost done reviewing the talks. I think mdnavare and Lyude are missing some submission reviews. The plan is finish reviewing all of them this week (/cc Lyude mdnavare) and next week we can start accepting talks together with preparing the final version program. For that purpose, I have a draft of the program that I shared to the CfP committee in a shared spreadsheet. [15:16:12] <samuelig> Organizers are finishing up the speakers document, that we hopefully will send together with the acceptance of the talks. [15:16:40] <samuelig> Other things about the conference: organizers are testing big blue button internally. They are still undecided if jitsi+youtube like last year or big blue button. I'll ask them again to see if they have decided finally before I go on holiday. [15:17:15] <samuelig> That reminds me to share that I will be off the whole month of August. Somebody else need to take care of CfP committee matters in my absence. I can probably check email every now and then but no expect quick answers from me in August. Who volunteers to follow up things if I do not reply in a reasonable time? [15:17:51] <anholt> Lyude: sorry, back now [15:17:56] <Lyude> samuelig: I will look at the rest of the talks today, iirc I feel like the only ones I left were the one without the full talk abstract + the kwinft ones [15:18:13] <Lyude> anholt: np, you can go next [15:18:40] <samuelig> XDC 2022: no news. [15:19:19] <Lyude> anyone want to volunteer for the CFP stuff? [15:20:39] <Lyude> samuelig: I can try to cover emails while you're gone, might be nice if someone else could volunteer as well [15:21:20] <samuelig> I won't disappear the whole month, so probably you won't notice anything. It is just in case something urgent arises and I am not available [15:21:27] <Lyude> ahhhh, yeah np [15:21:30] <Lyude> sounds fine to me then [15:21:53] <Lyude> anholt: want to go over your topic now? [15:21:54] <anholt> closed traces update: SPI didn't think they could do anything that would make the process easier than individual NDAs with the holders of the traces. we're proceeding with enabling closed traces on a driver team basis with responsible members of those teams having direct access. [15:22:04] <Lyude> read my mind [15:22:17] <mdnavare> samuelig: I will take a look at rest of the talks today and tomo [15:22:25] <samuelig> mdnavare, thanks! [15:22:28] <Lyude> anholt: gotcha. by the way, which companies were involved with this again? I remember google and collabora [15:22:32] <anholt> so trace failures won't block outside contributors because someone on the team can go investigate. [15:22:47] <anholt> google has the pile of traces, collabora's done most of the trace-related work. [15:23:37] <Lyude> anholt: hm, what you suggest does sound fine but a little while ago I had one last idea about how we might be able to figure out something that would be open to everyone - I wonder if we could ask valve to help out with the NDA stuff and if they'd be interested in it? [15:24:20] <Lyude> we might want to focus on the former idea you suggested first though, up to you [15:24:51] <anholt> I'm not clear on what you're suggesting [15:25:41] <Lyude> anholt: oh sorry-I was talking about the other day when you had been mentioning that you were first trying to figure out a way that anyone could sign sort of an agreement to get accesses totraces [15:25:46] <Lyude> *to traces [15:26:02] <Lyude> like-I wonder if valve could help out with that [15:26:24] <anholt> valve doesn't themselves own that much content [15:26:26] <Lyude> but either way, having project maintainers get access to traces would probably be good enough. just figured I'd suggest that [15:26:29] <Lyude> ahhh, gotcha [15:26:39] <anholt> we can already redistribute traces of valve content [15:26:41] <anholt> but it's just so little [15:26:57] <Lyude> gotcha [15:27:20] <Lyude> anholt: guessing that's all from your side then? [15:27:27] <anholt> yeah, I'd close this topic [15:27:48] <Lyude> anholt: gotcha, sounds good. mfilion - you around for any updates on the equinix meeting? [15:28:00] <Lyude> …they might still be on PTO, *checks* [15:28:29] <Lyude> ah yep - he's still on PTO, so we can skip that [15:28:58] <Lyude> alright - I think that's it for the meeting then. thanks everyone for coming! [15:29:40] <samuelig> thanks! [15:30:37] <hwentlan> thanks
